    About Malaysian Young Rheumatologist(MyR)

    MyR was established in 2024 with the following objectives:

    1. To provide a platform for future and early-career rheumatologists to network, and collaborate in the fields of education, research, and social outreach.
    2. To offer opportunities for increased international collaboration and participation within international MNOs, particularly within the APLAR community and APLAR Young Rheumatologist(AyR).
    3. To promote and facilitate research, clinical fellowships, and student exchange programs with other internation rheumatology bodies/societies.
    4. To encourage the participation of members in events related to the Malaysian Society of Rheumatology and MyR.
    5. To identify and nurture future leaders for the Malaysian Society of Rheumatology.

    Benefits

    The benefits of MyR membership include:

    Free access to MyR educational workshops/webinars.

    Free online access to MSR-sponsored journals and educational resources (work in progress).

    Reduced registration fees for local MSR Annual Congresses and Focus Meetings, in alignment with the MSR.

    MyR members may also apply for benefits offered by the MSR, such as fellowships, travel grants, and congresses

    Membership

    1. All Rheumatology trainees or consultants who are members of the Malaysian Society of Rheumatology (MSR) and are aged 45 or younger will automatically become members of MyR.

    2. MyR membership is valid until the age of 46 (on the members Birthday).

    MSR

    The Malaysian Society of Rheumatology was registered with the Registrar of Societies on 7th August 1989, following which the Protem Committee was dissolved and a new official executive committee was elected. MSR soon gained recognition and was warmly welcomed by regional Rheumatology bodies, namely, the Rheumatology Association of ASEAN (RAA) and the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR). MSR began to actively participate in the activities of these organisations.
