Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the launch of the ASia-Pacific Initiative for Rheumatology Nurse Education (ASPIRE) core training modules for rheumatology nursing education.
This initiative represents a truly international collaborative effort by a group of leading rheumatologists and rheumatology nurse specialists. We sincerely hope that the ASPIRE core training modules will prove to be a useful educational resource for both self-learning and professional education settings.
The overall aim of ASPIRE is to upskill nurses to better support the day-to-day management and monitoring of rheumatology patients in our region. Apart from developing relevant content that meet the educational needs of nurses, it is our goal to ensure that appropriate resources are available for the implementation of the training modules.
The core training modules are now available on the APLAR website (http://www.aplar.org/education_page/aspire-core-training-modules/).
Reviewed and endorsed by the APLAR Education Committee, these modules are structured around: patient assessment; treatment and self-management education; and disease monitoring and follow-up care in RA. You will also find contact details and more information about the core training modules and their implementation resources and tools there.
We welcome you to distribute news of this launch and invitation to the APLAR website amongst your networks.
Sincerely on behalf of
Professor Kazuhiko Yamamoto
